Pressed from the seeds of the tsamma — the wild watermelon of the Kalahari — and made in South Africa.

The tsamma melon grows wild across the Kalahari, the desert country that reaches into South Africa's Northern Cape. For the San, the desert's first peoples, the tsamma was survival itself: water and food where almost nothing else grows. Its seeds were eaten — and pressed for this light, golden oil, used on skin and hair under the desert sun.

What's inside: One ingredient: pure Kalahari melon seed oil — Citrullus lanatus — pressed from the seeds of the wild tsamma melon. Light and quick to take in, naturally rich in linoleic acid (omega-6) and vitamin E.

What it's for: A desert people's oil for desert-dry days: smoothed over skin that the sun and wind have worked on, and worked through hair as a light layer that leaves nothing greasy behind.

How to use: Warm a few drops between your palms. Press into a clean face, morning or night, or smooth over damp hair lengths and ends — no rinse, no weight.
